About Felicity
Relationship Counsellor and Psychologist on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.
My interest in relationship counselling, psychology and psychotherapy began when I spent six years in India studying Buddhist psychology and practising meditation. On returning to Australia I continued my studies and developed my skills to become a qualified relationship counsellor and psychotherapist.
I spent a number of years working with addictions before embarking in private practice on the northern beaches of Sydney where I now work with individuals, couples and adolescents. I am a registered psychologist, psychotherapist, accredited Gestalt Therapist and an experienced relationship counsellor that has been practising in Sydney for over 10 years.
I have over 20 years experience in Buddhist Psychology and meditation, which provides the foundation for me to be able to support and enhance lasting and stable change in the individual or couple.
As a wife and mother of 3 children I appreciate the challenges of developing and maintaining satisfying and fulfilling relationships with ourselves and those we care about.
Issues I work with
I am a registered psychologist and you may be eligible for Medicare and health fund rebates. I also offer on-the-spot claiming of rebates through HICAPS. Please inquire.
I provide relationship counselling, psychology services and psychotherapy for individuals and couples for a range of problems including:
.
- marriage and relationship difficulties
- intimacy issues
- family and parenting relationships
- adolescent relationships
- relationship separation and divorce issues
- infidelity and affairs
- communication problems
- pre and post-marriage counselling
- co-parenting relationship issues
My philosophy
I believe we all have the resources within to create satisfying and healthy relationships with ourselves and others. Due to circumstances you may be finding it difficult to access those resources. As we work together we will begin to see the ways you get stuck in fixed patterns of relating to others that get in the way of you leading a satisfying and healthy life.
.
I will help you to explore and uncover how these patterns are still active and affecting your life and assist you to find new and more creative ways to resolve the problem or crisis you are facing and lead a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
How I work
My therapeutic approach focuses on developing awareness, enhancing well-being and increasing self support. I spent six years in the East studying Buddhist psychology and meditation and my work is informed by my appreciation of the value of meditation and mindfulness practice.
.
You bring your own unique ideas, values, opinions and personal history into your relationships and they may not always match your partner’s. Differences can cause distress creating undue, tension, sadness, worry, fear and other problems. How do you come to appreciate the differences in others, be yourself and also be with others at the same time?
.
I work with couples helping you deal with difference to create happier more satisfying relationships.
